Zhuge Liang is surprised when he hears common people say that Liu Bei will attend the banquet. He rushes into the camp, prepared for a life-and death struggle with Zhou Yu. Passing through the central camp, he meets Lu Su and drags him along with him to the main tent. Through a small gap he peeks into the tent, and sees Guan Yu disguising himself as an attendant. Then he realises that his master will be safe.
劉備欲來赴會，張飛要來，劉備不同意，怕他鬧事，不帶他來，張飛一定要來，最後關羽解圍，願保哥哥到江東赴會，衆謀士建議，明保護不如暗提防，要關公化裝成牙將暗中保護主人。關公認爲很好，因此答應劉備共帶八員家牙將，關公夾雜其內，保主人赴會。
